Welcome to Ammos-Hotel

Easy-living meets dazzling seafront location at this mini-resort, only five km from the Venetian harbour of Chania, Crete’s prettiest town. Ammos hotel boasts a unique situation right on a shallow, sandy beach, completely secluded from the main road. Friendly staff (who have all been part of the Ammos family for years) will deliver fresh smoothies and cocktails, summery salads and souvlaki, straight to your sun-bed. Rooms-most of them come with soothing ocean views-are scattered around fragrant gardens of herbs, local cacti and succulents.

A rare blend of family-friendly facilities, unexpected design and great service, Ammos is one of those places that put you instantly at ease.

Style

Ammos style is laid-back, fun, and unassumingly cool. The whitewashed typical Greek island exteriors hide behind their blue doors a wicked collection of contemporary design. A design junky himself, owner Nikos Tsepetis, has an knack for using unusual juxtapositions in his decorating. He single-handedly curates every detail here-from the wild flowers bouquets to the eye-candy collection of mismatched chairs and the art pieces scattered around the hotel.

Food

It’s worth waking up for breakfast at Ammos – but don’t worry, we serve it until a very civilised 11.30 am. You could spend a week here and still not try everything: spinach pie, orange cake, homemade granola, Cretan cookies, seasonal fruits, and creamy Greek yoghurt swirled with thyme honey – the real deal.

Good life continues after breakfast. The beachfront restaurant stays open until late night and serves an array of mouthwatering Greek classics: stuffed tomatoes, courgette croquettes, crispy calamari, souvlaki, the glorified moussaka plus a few out-of-the-box dishes based on the island’s long culinary tradition (and Nikos’ mood of the day:-).

Rooms

Our sea and garden view studios are open-plan (22-24 sq.m). Combining bespoke and designer furniture, the design is minimalist (almost): a mosaic-tiled bathroom with walk-in shower and organic toiletries, African print stools, terrazzo floors, exceptionally comfy beds and statement walls create a fun and flirtatious atmosphere.
The sea and garden view studio come with a handy kitchenette, a small living area and a furnished terrace/balcony. These rooms can also accommodate a third person (ideal for families with one child).
